"a trick you play on yourself"
by matt:
it's almost midnight in brooksville. i just stepped out on the deck for a smoke, and the humidity is hovering around five hundred percent. the weed almost wouldn't burn.
jesse's 20 and still fairly intact, which is pretty amazing considering he's surrounded by junkies. active ones and a couple on parole. his sister's entire salary goes in her arm. luckily, the ones he lives with, his mother and brother, both got out of prison recently and are managing to stay clean. (mostly by drinking like bastards.)
these days (all along really, but moreso now that he sleeps over in the office occaisonally) i'm trying to figure out if i should make a move on him. it seems like one of the vilest epithets he knows is "gay". everything lame is gay. he acts homophobic (to the extent that i had somebody else cut the solo out of the song for me before i played it for him so i wouldn't have to explain about brian eno - he was just cross-dressing. he has a wife and kids. - and even then had to flange it out because it sounded too GAY.), but he is forever doubling up on some girl with robbie and giving me these looks and likes to wrestle around with me, so i just do not know. i don't want to grab it one night and have everything turn to shit.
we use fl studio and pro tools. his brother's friend trina owns the copy of pro tools, so we have to go over to hers to work with it. mostly they do the hands-on stuff. i could if i absolutely had to, but the lithium makes it hard to concentrate and learn new skills.

so how humid is it in florida these days?
there used to be a crazy guy on cn named jesse. reading this post made me think of him. he used to email me unsolicited over-photoshop-filtered jpgs of his nude body with his frightening poetry typed over it. come to think of it, ive known a few jesses in my time, and theyve all been exceptionally eccentric at best and fascinatingly damaged at worst. how doesw your jesse rate on that scale?
oh and what prompted me to comment on this was that, as i was reading it, this song was randomply playing on my itues... how are you cutting up the samples? that sounds really interesting.

Every single day that we do something, we are increasing production. Like measuring basal metabolic rate, not creating is far easier said than done. This, however, is a spike in the FFT.
